Contemporary trends in the building development, which imply the preservation of the natural environment in terms of the proper disposal of natural resources, impose the exploited, recycled materials as an opportunity for sustainable solutions. This paper studies the technological processes and material resources of the production processes of aggregates from the waste concrete, as well as the appropriateness of their application to the requirements in terms of quality of the product. According to the current situation in economy, it is shown that conventional ways of recycling concrete in a mobile or stationary plants, give the aggregate the multiple functionalities ‐ to create a roadbeds, embankments, various types of fillings, but also for the preparation of new concrete mixtures. On the other hand, advanced recycling technologies, that provide us with quality equivalent natural aggregate, imply the higher energy consumption, which brings into question their ecological and economic viability. In addition to aggregate, it has been stated the ability to apply the mineral powder, as a product of the respective technology.
